Entertained by the simplest of things...
It's amazing how Hutton has probably a hundred toys but gets so easily bored with them. However, you sit him in the kitchen floor with some mixing bowls and measuring spoons and he's entertained for hours!! He was absolutely cracking me up putting bowls on his head and chewing everything! Guess it just goes to prove that money really can't buy happiness!

Former ADPi House Boy Walks the Red Carpet!!
I was fortunate enough to have the incredible experience of being a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority at the University of Kentucky. Talking about those times would require another blog for just that! Haha! Love my pi girls! Anyways, during my time there I lived in the house for 3 years! We were spoiled rotten! For our meals, there were hired "house boys" that were responsible for setting the food out and taking care of the dishes. One of these house boys happened to be a dear friend of mine, Alex Beh, who was the second person I met my freshman year. We were involved in FCA together all through college. He's one of those goofy guys that was always entertaining and everyone loved him.
After college, Alex moved LA to pursue his acting/directing career. You may have seen him on several commercials. Well, he is now dating the iconic Jennifer Love Hewitt, whom we all know from the Disney show Kids Inc., Party of Five, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and so many more. Last week, Alex strutted his stuff on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards! So CRAZY!! They seem to really click so I wish him nothing but the best!! Good ole Alex Beh...Who would have thought??

Praying for Our Children
I started reading a book last night titled, The Power of a Praying Parent, by Stormie Omartian. The Lord used half of the first chapter to really speak to every inch of my soul. Words can't express how convicted I was to pray for our son. Craig and I literally stopped all that we were doing last night and just lifted our sweet baby boy to the Lord. Here is the quote that really struck a chord in me:
"The battle for our children's lives is waged on our knees. When we don't pray, it's like sitting on the sidelines watching our children in a war zone getting shot at from every angle. When we DO pray, we're in the battle alongside them, appropriating God's power on their behalf."
When I read that, tears were brought to my eyes and my stomach just felt sick. I came to the disheartening revelation that praying for my child had not been at the top of my priority list, leaving him to fight this battle on his own. Mundane things such as laundry, cooking dinner, doing the dishes, cleaning the house, running errands, working out, etc. had all been put in front of getting on my knees going the Lord on Hutton's behalf. After I was able to complete all my tasks, it was then that I would try to pray and at that point I was lucky to stay awake long enough to get 5 minutes of prayer in. That changes NOW. I realize that he is only a baby, but if covering him in prayer is not mine and Craig's priority, then whose priority is it? Last night was extremely sobering. I hope that this post will encourage you parents out there to lift your children up to the Lord daily! Every day we are facing a spiritual battle and they need US to fight with them and for them!!
Thank you Lord for opening my eyes to the power of prayer for my child!!

Not one, but TWO teeth emerging!!
So I discovered last night as Hutton was giggling immensely, that he is getting BOTH bottom front teeth! I thought it was only one so I was very much surprised!! That explains the recent fussiness and unusual crying outbursts! One of them is about halfway through where as the other one has barely broken through the skin. Looks like he won't be a snaggle tooth after all.
I was invited to a women's Bible study at my friend's church here in Memphis and went yesterday for the first time! I have to say it was so refreshing to get out of the house to fellowship with other women! We started in a small group of about 10 women and then met together with about 100-150 other women for snacks and a lesson. It was AMAZING!! Can't wait to go back next week. The childcare was great and I was able to study the Word without any distractions! So thankful for this newfound opportunity!

Fun with friends!
We were so blessed to be able to spend the weekend with one of my best friends, Jennifer Ladd, and her husband Luke! Hutton got loved on so much and Craig and I were encouraged beyond words by our sweet friends. We simply enjoyed restful hang out time and good food, as well as some fun games!! I am so thankful to have Jennifer in my life pray that God continues to bless their journey in Kingston, TN. I love you friend!!

Hutton's night out!
So we took Hutton out for dinner to a Japanese steakhouse. He loved all the action!! However, when the chef decided to make a big flame, he wasn't too happy! I felt so bad but couldn't stop laughing!!

A Tooth is Emerging!
I am excited to report that Hutton officially has a tooth poking it's way through! He has been an excessive drooler since the second month so everyone who meets him immediately says, "Oh, he's teething!" when in reality he just likes to slobber...Until NOW! He has been extremely fussy the last few days and when I stuck my finger on his gums to check today, there was a little sharp something present! Hopefully it will come all the way through soon because this teething thing is making us all miserable! Poor little guy is in so much pain!
On a sweeter note, he has been super snuggly lately and I love it! Every time he gets ready for nap time, we sit in the rocker in his room and he just lays that sweet little head in my neck and just nuzzles. He's getting so big that his legs wrap around my sides and he wraps his arms around mine. I can't describe how it makes me feel to snuggle with my baby boy. It's like the world stands still and nothing else matters in that moment. I LOVE IT and couldn't me more in love with my son! Thank you Lord for the most amazing blessing ever!

A White Christmas in the Mountains
I LOVE CHRISTMAS! It is by far my favorite holiday. There is nothing like getting together with family to enjoy good food and fellowship! I love the lights, the trees, the decorations, the wrapped gifts...all of it! Christmas just makes me happy and brings out a new joy inside of me! Don't you love that feeling? However, it's amazing how we spend all this time planning and preparing for the holiday and then, in the blink of an eye, it's over.
This year we were fortunate enough to spend Christmas with my family in the beautiful mountains of Eastern Kentucky. We were blessed with the whitest of Christmases which made the holiday atmosphere even more special! It snowed for a couple of days and left Pikeville looking breathtaking. So we stayed cozy inside my parents home in our Christmas pajamas playing Wii, an awesome, addictive card game called Nertz, eating ourselves full, and watching classic Christmas movies! Now add Hutton, the sweetest baby boy ever, to that mix of fun, and you have the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER! Having a baby in the house gave us reminders of some of the simple joys of Christmas! He is the biggest blessing of all time and has forever changed our lives!
Here are a few pics from our time in Kentucky!
